* Blending & Dictation

  Blending is the main strategy for teaching students how to sound out words.

  To best transition students’ growing reading skills to writing, dictation is critical.

- Blending : 개별 음소를 듣고 조합하여 하나의 단어로 발음하는 활동입니다. Blending 활동으로 학습자들은 발화된 말소리에서 음소를 인지하는 

  음소 인식 능력(Phonemic awareness)을 발달시킵니다.

- Dictation : 글자와 소리의 관계를 알고 있는 학습자는 새로운 단어를 만났을 때 자신감을 갖고 읽을 수 있습니다. Dictation은 글자와 소리의 관계를 학습자가 

  직접 써보면서 익히도록 도와줍니다.

* Word Sort & Word Building

  Students need opportunities to play with words and experiment with how word parts combine to solidify and consolidate their understanding of how English words work.

- Word Sort : 단어들을 spelling pattern과 pattern에 따라 발음되는 소리에 맞춰 분류하는 활동입니다. 학습자들은 개별 글자와 말소리의 관계를 파악하고, 

  단어를 구성하는 음절을 파악하는 능력을 키웁니다

- Word Building : 학습자들은 letter cards를 활용해 단어를 조합하고, 글자와 말소리의 관계를 인식하는 능력을 발달시킵니다.

* High-Frequency Words

  The top 250 high-frequency words are taught in Grades K-2. After Grade 2, students need to be continually assessed on their mastery of these words, as a lack of fluency can impede comprehension.

- High-Frequency Words : 정확하고 빠르게 글을 읽을 수 있는 능력을 키우기 위한 250개의 High-Frequency Words를 학습합니다.

- Cumulative Review : 각 레슨마다 이전까지 배운 High-Frequency Words를 반복해 학습합니다.

* Read Connected Text

   Controlled, decodable text at the beginning level of reading instruction helps students develop a sense of comfort in and control over their reading growth.
